Installing A Sink Sprayer Using Plumbers Putty





When professional plumbers need a watertight seal they look to plumber's putty. Whether you are installing a faucet, repairing a pipe, resetting a tile, or installing a sink sprayer plumbers putty is the way to go.

If you aren't familiar with this putty you should be. It's great stuff! It molds easily, never crumbles, never cracks or shrinks, and it doesn't harden. That's why it works so well. It's flexible and stretchable molding easily to form a watertight seal.

To install should take you about 45 minutes. 1. Apply a good bead of plumber's putty to the base of the spray holder. Next insert your holder into the hole. Now you will have to use your wrench to tighten it up. Once it's tight wipe away the excess putty. 2. From the top insert the supply tube of the sprayer. The tube will sit in place. 3. Now you need to get under the sink and screw the supply hose to the hose nipple on the bottom of the faucet. Use your wrench to tighten the nut. 4. Now all that's left to do is use your new sink sprayer.

It's that simple. Your sprayer is now installed. But that's not where the job of the putty ends. In fact you'll find it in every plumber's toolbox and it should be a backup in every home. You can not only use it to install a host of fixtures you can also use it to fix a lot of things. So having it handy just makes sense.
